is a monthly newsletter published  by the Alano Club of San Jose, Inc.

Text Box:  There was this fellow called Bill Wilson
I have some excerpts that Bill gave at the World Conference July 2, 1960.
Some say that these Clubs should be abolished and they are the Sink Holes of inequity.
They seem to cause more trouble than in the back seat of automobiles.
 Bill Said,
“Forgive me while I snicker.”
Bill replied that they are close but not quite of A. A.   “No Club is so damn bad that it hasn’t got
a plus sign”.  “They are something very worthwhile.”  “Above All we must be respectful”

Text Box: Our sister Club,  The Alano Club West is getting a bit of bad Luck

Text Box: If the City of San Jose follows through with their current plan the Alano Club West must close its doors at the
1139 Minnesota location by the time we mail our club newsletter October 31st.  This was finalized at the October 12th Appeals Board Hearing.
We wish the Alano Club West the very best in their situation and will let you know just as soon as things are finalized.  Or if by some magic trick they are able to stay on their property, we will inform you at our next publication.
We would like to extend an open invitation to any of the meetings that we can accommodate until the West can obtain a  new location or get back to business at their present location.  Because Clubs are so important to our community and recovery, I personally hope that the transformation period is not a long one.
Tony Baron, a long time paid member of the Alano Club West.
 The Early Years

Back  when I was learning how to manage this Club and  appear to be in my right mind, I had a great deal of help.  I owe a great deal of gratitude to a sweetheart and  later wife that helped me in so many ways.  Sofia Abud was our Clubs fundraiser, dance booster, event organizer, fun finder, and the managers therapist.  She later went on to work for Pathways and the County of Santa Clara in many parts of the Drug and Alcohol Prevention Programs.  Over the years she helped so many find their way out of  trouble and into the light.  She was and remains one of my unselfish hero's that make the impossible happen on a daily basis.
